Alluding to the concept of tawaf; the Islamic ritual of the haj pilgrimage where Muslims circumambulate or go around the Kaabah in a circular movement; the 5 circles on the cover symbolize the 5 pillars of Islam as well as the 5 decades that Muis has been serving the community. The brush stroke emulates the medium of ink and brush, key elements in Islamic calligraphy and the printing press. The unfurnished edges of the strokes represent Muis’ relentless efforts to echo positive impacts in the Malay Muslim community in Singapore. The deep green colour was chosen to show rootedness and growth while accents of gold lend a momentous touch as Muis commemorates its 50th Anniversary.
